In 2004, Pierce Brosnan received a shocking phone call.
The James Bond actor, who was gearing up to do a fifth movie in the 007 franchise, was told by producers the role was being recast.
Initially, the star felt he had been “kicked to the curb.” But now, he has no hard feelings against the decision.
“There’s no regret,” the 67-year-old told The Guardian on Wednesday. “I do not let regret come into my world… It just leads to more misery and more regrets.”
Brosnan made his debut as the British Secret Service agent in 1995’s “GoldenEye.” He went on to star in 1997’s “Tomorrow Never Dies,” 1999’s “The World is Not Enough” and 2002’s “Die Another Day.”

Sean Connery’s 007 was played moe or less seriously.
Roger Moore’s 007 was over-the-top campy.
Pierce Brosnan’s 007 split the difference between the two.

That is a good description of Brosnan...
There were times when Brosnan could play the mean secret agent...In TOMORROW NEVER DIES, he showed no hesitation about shooting Dr. Kaufman...Kaufman killed Bond’s old lover (Teri Hatcher)...
Also, Die Another Day was awful, IMO.

I actually found DIE ANOTHER DAY to be OK...
The plot involves North Korea...That was interesting...
I had no problem with Halle Berry...
Plus, Moore films are fun, which is more than I can say for the last Daniel Craig outing. Enough with the angst and navel gazing, Bond, just do your job for once!

Don’t forget MOONRAKER...It had some good parts...There was US Space Force in that movie...
Even A VIEW TO A KILL was interesting at times...Like the hot tub scene with Bond and the KGB agent in San Francisco...
Timothy Dalton was a good James Bond his scripts stunk.

I would put THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS in my top ten James Bond film list...
My fave Bronson movie. Watch it every time I catch it on.
