For years now he and Mel Brooks had this daily tradition where Mel Brooks would stop for food and visit Reiner where they both would watch TV and eat together.

Too bad, though, that your son is such a Meathead (though out of sheer decency I do offer sincere condolences to the Meathead, as well as others in Carl’s family).

OMG. I thought he died a long time ago. He certainly lived a long and interesting life.
Carl Reiner described himself as a Jewish atheist. He said, “I have a very different take on who God is. Man invented God because he needed him. God is us.” He said in 2013 he developed an atheistic viewpoint as the Holocaust progressed.
After all his accomplishments, in the end, a wasted life. Too bad.
It brings a point I’ve felt for years, The Holocaust, maybe more than anything, is responsible for the growth of atheism, post WWII.
