Make it a law making it a felony (kidnapping) for non-LEOs to stop any vehicle against the owner's will
Rioting, Looting, stopping cars | 30 June 2020 | Mene Mene Tekel Upharsin

Protesters who have stopped cars on highways or anywhere are essentially kidnapping the individuals inside. No difference exists between detaining the person trying to leave a dangerous scene and several individuals holding their arms to keep them there. This should be a felony. If the individual leaves the vehicle to run, then the perpetrators have "stolen" the vehicle. Pass a law to make it felony kidnapping to detain someone in their vehicle without law enforcement authority.

They are more violent and confrontational than the people in Georgia were tried to question the jogger. The jogger attacked him and tried to take the gun into his own hands and people said he was justified.

They create a serious traffic hazard when they walk out on the freeway and obstruct traffic and throw things at moving cars and put debris in the road.

Laws don’t matter anymore.

If you are a protected class - you can do anything.

Totally agree, I think the GOP is either sleeping or hiding under their desks, absolutely NO response from them as Rome burns. I hate politicians.

So if I press the walk button to cross the street I’m now a felon?

You can pass any law you like. But if the Democrat political masters prevent the police from enforcing laws and the Democrat elected prosecutors refuse to bring to trial those that are arrested, then the mob has been empowered and they know it. Urban America is unlivable. Decent, productive America must not be forced to subsidize it.

They could make it triple secret probation, but if the police aren't going to come, and if the charges won't be levied against the criminals, then it doesn't matter.

Instead there needs to be a law that certain types of offenses already on the books must be prosecuted, or those in charge will lose their jobs. None of the existing rioting offenses are being prosecuted.

You know what I mean. The law needs to detail stopping cars during a protest or any other such event, not traffic flowing lawfully. Get a life.

I think there are already laws for this, but are ignored in big democratic cities...

It is a violation of constitutional rights. the 1st amendment is usually associated with free speech, however it also includes the right to freely associate with whom you want. To stop you from doing that is a violation of your constitutional right. So, having said that they are violating your first amendment rights. Now, the problem is how will you enforce it? The police wont arrest. And should you manage to get the name of the people... what are you going to sue them for? their money? LOL,

“...So if I press the walk button to cross the street I’m now a felon?...” nope, there’s laws in place that permit you to do that.

Aren’t roadways generally considered for the purpose of CARS, not HUMAN walking?

This actually bugs me about people putting basketball hoops on the road...not that a kid can’t play, but that it states “this is our BB court on the legal roadway”. I’m thinking, the road is for cars driving, not people walking, running, playing, whatever.

If on the federal road system it is already a crime to block traffic.

On the community/city/state or county? It depends on each of those.

ENFORCE THE DAM LAWS!

You see? They wont. There is the problem.

It already is a law, it’s just not being enforced that way. That makes it an enforcement issue. An Executive Order should do.

Technically not kidnapping. False imprisonment works.

An element of kidnapping is asportation. That isn’t present if you are just stopped.

Other than faulty legal analysis ....

I am hoping these riots are met with civilian snipers moving forward. “Rioters will be shot” used to be the standard and there’s no reason for it not to be the standard now.

Carry conceal or install cow catchers on your front bumper will solve most of these problems.

We have a multitude of laws if the power structure was really interested in stopping this. We don’t need more laws.
