None of this would have happened if one incompetent cop and his fellow officers had simply handcuffed the perpetrator and taken him into custody.

If the officer involved in the Minneapolis incident with Floyd (and his fellow officers on the scene) had simply followed procedure, subdued the suspect, handcuffed him and taken him into custody, the riots, the burning down of businesses, the tearing down of statues, the shootings of police officers and all the other mayhem that's occurred over the past month would not have happened.

I know I'm stating the obvious.

[[Believe it or not the cops did practically everything by the book...with the possible exception of not administering cpr when they could have. ]]

Exactly- but even then, just because the cop said ‘i can’t find a pulse’ doesn’t mean there wasn’t one- likely there wasn’t- but not everyone is trained to find a pulse well- I do think the cop made a horrible decision to wait for the ambulance UNLESS he could hear the siren coming closer- then ‘possibly’ it was a judgement call that tragically lead to bad results- I think he just made a poor decision that ended tragically because the ambulance didn’t get there and onto the scene for another 2 minutes or so- but the police were having to deal with increasingly hostile acting crowd too- plus hold george, and wait for ambulance, which they had called- proving they weren’t ‘depravedly indifferent’ to the situation, but made a serious error in judgement- I don’t think he intentionally killed George with ‘depraved indifference’ in full view of video from both civilians and the police cams

" None of this would have happened if a career felon who was high on drugs and had serious health issues hadn’t resisted arrest."

We can control the actions of our police. We can't control the actions of career criminals, we can only arrest and prosecute them.

The fault of this incident lies 100 percent with the police, period, end of story.

Ok, perhaps you make valid points.

But I think this is partly a perfect storm of circumstances.

Take away this COVID NONSENSE, and this might never have happened. Not the way it is now, so out of control.

For one, everyone is antsy and irritable with this “lock-down”. Combine that pent-up energy and anxiety with the ‘hood ‘tude, and you have a real powder keg.

NOW add in all the whites and others, who don’t have jobs (and some quit school not doing video conferencing) because of this garbage. They have ZERO else to do, combined with that anxiety.

Combined with all the socialist garbage they generally spew, and how seething with hatred they are for the USA in general....

....BOOM...

not excusing it, and not saying it’s a conspiracy (tho it may be).

They would have just picked another cop-black problem.

Time to bring back the old Mancatchers. They worked well in the past.

“There were going to be riots this summer, no matter what.” There would aways be an excuse. If you don’t believe there was a lot of planning going into this prior to the Floyd incident, you are not paying attention. Kerry says there will be riots if Trump wins in November. The bogus polls will show Biden with a substantial lead. The will say trump stole it.

If this doesn’t work (or even if it does) I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a school shooting where the FBI knew about the shooter before hand.

I don't agree. The left used the Floyd incident as trigger for riots it had planned for some time.

Another incident would have been used to set all this off if Floyd had been arrested properly.

As others have said, BLM was waiting for an incident to start their election year violence campaign. Its hard to get a perfect incident, so they have to get us to overlook the character of the person involved.

George Floyd was a violent kidnapper, holding a woman at gunpoint in a home invasion.

In their earlier 2014 election year campaign, Michael Brown was so violent because he knew if he was arrested for any minor thing, his earlier store robbery would come to light before he was released.

BLM had to go with these flawed incidents because they were determined to have a violent summer leading into an election.

Eggzactly.

This has nothing to do with race. This is about the revolution.

Black folks and soft-hearted headed White folks are being used.

Nonsense!

They would have rioted over the next “killing” whoever it would be.

Lawless folks are always going to do lawless things. All they need is a reason & a Soros paycheck.

" None of this would have happened if a particular individual had not tried to pass a counterfeit $20. Just sayin’."

Stop it with this nonsense. We can't have police executing people, ever. We don't even know if this is true or if the guy knew the $20 was fake and even if he did this intentionally I'm pretty sure he would not have received the death penalty had the police just taken him into custody.

Good grief people.

The reality is there is a hidden truth in the BLM marxist movement and that is the police really are off the rails and out of control. They are armed and trained as a military force and they are behaving accordingly. This is nothing new. It's been festering for some thirty or more years. The police are using excessive force on everyone everywhere. There is no discrimination. When the police become a military, the people become the enemy. The issue that people are failing to see is that the Marxist BLM movement has been so successful with their anti police agenda because it's rooted in truth except for the racial component.

Not true.

The same Antifa members rioted to prevent conservatives speakers from speaking on campus and attacked Trump rallies in 2015 and 2016. They were planning to do the same nationwide to “resist” Trump.

BLM members haven’t just rioted for every case where a black person died in custody. They’ve protested after multiple fake hate crimes.

The whole George Floyd thing was a giant set up

they needed a trigger that was it

Do you really think for a second all this Marxists and I kissed Black Lives Matter crap would be happening irrespective of the George Floyd incident?

Absolutely of course it would They tried to get it going with the armored Arbery case but they didn’t get any traction

Do you really think that all of these left us and her kiss all around the world just all the sudden got pissed because of that one incident?

Do you really think all that organized looting burning and crap that went on was a pre-plan in advance for months and years

If you do I have a bridge to sell you in Florida

Note that video referenced by thread below doesn’t show Floyd, but suggests a back-seat struggle between Floyd and police imo.
New surveillance video shows George Floyd in struggle with cops in back of police car BEFORE being pulled out and 'killed' by officer Derek Chauvin (May 31, 2020)

So Floyd probably had adrenaline surge, followed by police in my armchair opinion.

Insights welcome.
