Replaced the battery 3-times over the years... Finally put 3 pillows around it and decided to switch back to Comcast... Interesting to note that FIOS no longer uses the stupid battery backup, which is only for the phone, but remove the battery and the phone still works but the TV goes away...

Also, FIOS has over charged so many times I stopped keeping count... Have had FIOS for 7 years and only the first 2 were satifactory...

The last contract renewal was a guaranteed charge of 197 per month... That had stealthed up to 272 by the time the contract expired last November... That's with no HBO or any of the other fancey movie channels...

Also the lie about speed... Supposed to have 100 up & 100 down... Now it dribbles in and out at about 70...

Will go for the 1 gb down from Comcast assuming they can give me at least 100 up...

Since the chinese sneak attack occurred I've been marking time till I switch... Maybe in Sept...

All I really need is my Firestick for the things I watch...

It’s been years since we paid that much. We only pay about $80 per month to Verizon for Internet connection - I think it’s 25 up/25 down. Our home phone is an Ooma voip, and we have Roku for TV.

This arrangement gives us everything we want or need (YMMV) - and we haven’t experienced any slowness or glitches with it - except, obviously, some issues regarding peace and quiet right now ;-)

But we don’t need all the stuff that others might through the Internet.
