Or in my case a watermelon with a tough rind.

I am not so much a cool cucumber as one really hot tomatah.

And sometimes I prefer both of us pickled.

Lower Midwesterner with a container garden checking in checking in.

I had a nice crop of black swallowtail caterpillars decimating my dill. They have all moved on and I can harvest dill again. I’m hoping to see some nice butterflies soon.

My lavender plant that went gangbusters and got me a nice little crop of buds has great leaf growth but no new buds forming. I’m wondering if it’s not getting enough sun. It’s aesthetically pleasing where it is so I can’t bring myself to move it to the sunnier side of the porch.

It’s also now Swiss chard season which will turn into any leafy green but swims chard in a few weeks. I swear it grows better once I start cutting it and i end up eating it 3 or 4 times a week.

I hope everyone else is beginning to harvest.

Cucumber with anxiety ... yep, sounds about right ... ;-)
Glad to report sweet corn still standing despite strong storms.

LOL Funny caption- Here’s some more funnies to brighten everyone’s day:

I can’t believe i forgot to go to the gym today- that’s like 7 years in a row now

And

You know how you buy a bag of salad and it gets all brown and soggy quickly? Cookies don’t do that

And:

Bought a head of lettuce today- should i just throw it out now? In wait 2 weeks like i usually do?

My cukes themselves (not just me!) must be anxious or something .... ton of blooms, not one baby cuke to be found. My jalapenos have peppers, my tomatoes plants have tomatoes .... lots of pollinators around, but I don’t think they are visiting the cukes!

Now that I’ve mentioned this, I suppose we’ll be overrun with cukes in the near future!

PS- found my first “puffs” (balloons) on my Love-in-a-Puff (balloon) vines. I grow mine in an old stock tank so they don’t run amuck elsewhere.
