Good Morning from the Farm

Posted on 06/23/2020 9:40:17 AM PDT by Manly Warrior

We served our country in the Army throughout our youth and raised our children; now we rest in our retirement. From the choices we made, we have a small farm in the country.

In the early hours before the sunrises, I talk with God about all the things that are in my heart,Then I am still, and I listen to all the special words of love and guidance that God wants to share with me. My bed faces the sunrise, I will watch the last star of the evening go out and put itself to bed. Then the sunrise comes through my window it awakens me with soft pink and gold colors.

My husband usually rises first and he puts a fresh pot of coffee on. I create my own music so I awaken our family with songs I play on the piano. I hear from each bedroom the floors creaking, antique bed frames that are covered in colorful quilts have done their job of keeping my loved ones resting softly in deep peaceful sleep. My husband will start putting the biscuits in the oven he puts the apple wood smoked bacon in the frying pan, it starts to sizzle, The aroma rises up, it calls everyone to the kitchen. We say “good morning did you have pleasant dreams?” If the grandchildren had a bad dream, we all try to soothe them. We enjoy hot buttered biscuits; we made some mint jelly it adds a fresh taste.

After we have eaten, we read the Bible and we share God together and then commemorate the Lord's Supper. It is our time to connect with Jesus to thank Him for His free gift of forgiveness; to receive the healing we need to start fresh in ability to learn how to put more love into this day.

My husband will check the weather forecast, we start to plan the day, tasks ahead, the food, and the fun we want to enjoy. The clouds make a hazy soft sunlight, there is a gentle breeze. The dew on the grass will make rainbow colors, and the butterflies will drink.

My husband will look at the news, and we pray for our nation we hope hearts will be turned to God. I share the story that is in my heart the kids will run out and play on the swings. I take a cool morning swim.

I wished to share our farm fresh morning with you so you can be blessed with the glory of a new day!

Mrs. Warrior wishing everyone a blessed day.

)(Not every day is exactly as described, but we are blessed to have adult children and grandchildren close, with some exceptions; we do however, remember the Lord's supper every morning, discerning between the symbolism of the Bread ( His body, broken for us/ours, and the Cup, the New Covenant in His Blood ( that the Father God will remember our lawless deed and trespasses no more and that He will write His laws on our hearts and take away our hearts of stone and give us hearts of flesh), the payment for our sin)). Have a blessed day, Regardless of the morass swirling around us. Do Right, Do Good.

Thank you for sharing. Life is good. God is good. He created this miraculous planet for the sheer joy of watching us enjoy it.

Thank you, Father. This is the the day You have made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.

My life is a little different as my wife passed away awhile back but I am retired so there is no need to worry about getting off to work. I still get up early & thank God for the day no matter the weather. There is always something, usually many things to be thankful for & generally no need to hurry around getting things done. I eat a little breakfast, enjoy a cup of coffee & see what needs to be done that day. Generally it is a pretty unhurried day that I am thankful for after the busy working life I experienced & a late-in-life retirement. I am not wealthy, but have enough to live on & few worries either. It is a bit lonesome at times, but nevertheless a good life & I am grateful to be able to enjoy it, live in my own home & can still drive & generally manage for myself. I know that many my age don’t have it this good & that is one thing I thank God for.
