Another takeaway from the press conference. Phelps was asked about the rumors that the noose was the garage’s pull rope.

Phelps says he did not know at the moment. More details will come out through the investigation.

This is an unfair advantage and possible motive...but that said, it was necessary to check that car IF there was really a noose. But in order to make an exception to the rule, shouldnt PHelps have actually looked at the noose????? THis whole story is sketchy and I think will fall apart

Phelps says the team was allowed to double-check the car to make sure it was not tampered with, in addition to the noose found in their garage.
