Found this on Twitter:
Type in any 3-digit number on google search with the words "new cases" (no quotation marks) and watch what pops up.
It doesn't matter what number you pick. I actually tried some four digit numbers and also the number 2. Same results.
The results will be "___ new cases of covid reported .... blah blah blah."
I can understand that "new cases" would bring up covid cases, but ANY number?
Just saying..... Try it for yourself.
Yup.
I typed in .01 new cases and -2.7182818 new cases and got Corona virus outputs both times.
my guess is that it is keying on the words “new cases” and essentially ignoring the number
because the numbers don’t matter, and the numbers don’t add up. But NEW CASES , now that’s helpful to be scary!!
This worked:
12732 new cases
“Latest On Coronavirus: Florida Cites 11,111 Cases, Confusion ...”
Yeah, this was the first hit for me:
Development of Coronavirus cases: Moldova (12732 cases)
coronalevel.com Moldova
In Moldova there have been 12732 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Of those, currently 5222 are still sick. That is one in every 770 inhabitants.
See post #16.
Thanks /sarc... that article made me stupider for reading it...
Good catch, Mame!
Really, it is pretty cool how many numbers work, although if you think about it, there are thousands of districts reporting cases, and doing so every day, so it’s not surprising that most 3-digit numbers got hit.
But not 719, apparently.
Well, “4” is not a 3-digit number, so..........
works for most 4-digit number i tried as well!
