After Elton Simpson posted a link to the “Draw Muhammad” event, the undercover FBI agent wrote: “Tear Up Texas.”
This apparently was known to James Comey, acting FBI director at the time who did not feel that Simpson was likely to commit violence.
Bruce Joiner, the security guard who was shot in the leg in the terrorist attack filed suit and it was dismissed. It’s currently on appeal with the 5th circuit. The cover up has been extremely effective so far.
