When she was elected I was up for CCW but could renew by mail.

I went down the next day to a local office figuring the sooner the better. The PC systems were down but they took my renewal form, fee and a new picture saying it'd be mailed in for processing.

A couple of weeks later I got my renewal. Better picture.

The earlier one was dark and made me look like Saddam Hussein's brother. I'd arrest me based on the earlier picture for that reason alone.

Dept of Agriculture does CCW - not sure why but I have not read of problems since she's been in office until today. ;-)

Just FYI to all: Florida is a "Shall Issue" CCW state, no open carry and state law preempts ALL local laws regarding firearms so you don't have to worry driving between cities or counties about local laws.

Also - No income tax and most counties are at 7% sales tax. Conservatives welcome!

"Dept of Agriculture does CCW - not sure why ..."

My recollection is that this was done intentionally to prevent the process from being politicized.

Florida was the first, or among the first, to pass "shall issue" concealed carry in about 1986. Probably at that time many chief law enforcement officers were opposed and the Florida arrangement took the process out of their hands.
