Even if they thought Berman was OK at the time, considering the importance of THIS office, why would anyone fail to make the appointment and thus avoid any possibility of the current sh!tstorm?

He’s an interim. How do you get evidence into the light?
Rudy could have brought all his evidence into the light without having Berman open an investigation on him. And Berman was NOT interim. As I posted previously he was confirmed by the judical panel because Trump and Sessions failed to do so and they have that option. After 120 days as acting he is as permanent as any US Attorney, he just got there by a different path.
