Rudy could have brought all his evidence into the light without having Berman open an investigation on him. And Berman was NOT interim. As I posted previously he was confirmed by the judical panel because Trump and Sessions failed to do so and they have that option. After 120 days as acting he is as permanent as any US Attorney, he just got there by a different path.
My understanding is that Bermann was actually tasked by the deep state to open an investigation ON Rudy.
Perhaps the evidence the white hats sought was the evidence of DS string pullers giving Berman instructions on who to prosecute, etc. Proving conspiracy to commit treason/sedition requires showing a pattern of behavior. Multiple examples are needed to show the pattern and to prove the conspiracy beyond a reasonable doubt.
