A statue of George Washington was pulled down by protesters on Thursday night, which was Juneteenth eve, reports CBS Portland affiliate KOIN-TV. The nation's first president owned slaves.
KOIN said Thursday marked the 21st day of demonstrations for racial justice and police reform sparked by the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police. Two groups Rose City Justice and Lavender Caucus hosted a sit-in rally at Jefferson High School in the evening where community members shared their experiences with racism with a crowd of a few hundred.

And nothing will happen.
Next, the DC Washington Monument.
There is a GW Equestrian statue on Monument Avenue in Richmond. This is the street where all the Confederate monuments are going down.

Yeah well, I’m not too sure that part of the country is still the United States anyway... :(
now if they can just shut down and evacuate Washington DC.
Next, they’ll be asking to rename Washington DC, and the state of Washington, and everything else named after people who owned or employed slaves in the past. The country won’t be recognizable, and every map (paper and GPS) will have to be redrawn/re-programmed.
At what point are you pussies going to fight for and defend your freedoms? If you have a statue of an American historical figure in your neighborhood then rally with other like minded patriots and guard it. Otherwise when they come for you and your house don’t whine.
We apologize for criticising your destruction of ancient statues that you don't like.Hugs and kisses,
Turns out that here in America, we do the same.
Turns out we have much in common.

I hate to say it, but I agree with you. Portland, Seattle, Chicago, NYCity, Minneapolis and other cities are no longer acting as though they are part of the same country as the rest of us. I don’t know how it would work but secession of them from the rest of us has to be considered; we get rid of 100 million leftists, let them stew in their own squalor and we can get back to being the country we are and should be - people of all races living in harmony, no domination by huge corporate interests, rid of the biased media and garbage history like the Jamestown 1619 project and Howard Zinn lying about our history are thrown out of our schools.
Ya. I dont get that.
The American Left and The Taliban have been on the same side this entire time. circa 2001
Juneteenth eve? Good grief...
Are you sure he didn’t walk off the platform? I bet George Washington wouldn’t want to be associated with what this country has become.
So they basically have free will to destroy anything and everything.
The revolution has come to America with no resistance.
What these manure eaters did to the Lincoln Memorial is heartbreaking and infuriating. The douche bag mayor of DC, did nothing.
Anyone thinking that monuments of Lincoln will be spared, just read some of what Lincoln said on the subject of race. They will start calling for Mt. Rushmore to come down before the summer is over.
America has been severed from its roots. President Trump is all that stands in the way of the total obliteration of America’s past.
“First in war, first in peace, and first in the hearts of his countrymen.” These famous words about George Washington come from a eulogy written by Henry Light Horse Harry Lee. Lee was a major general in the Continental Army, member of the Continental Congress, governor of Virginia, father of the famous Civil War general Robert E. Lee, and close friend of George Washington.
Following Washingtons death on December 14, 1799, the Sixth Congress commissioned Lee, his brother in arms, to write a moving eulogy. Congress was unanimous in choosing Lee for the task, believing he was best suited to express those sentiments of respect for the character, of the gratitude for the service, and of grief for the death of that illustrious personage.
