Was a fun show, lots of politically incorrect moments, would never get past screeners today. Very unfortunate.
I had never seen a complete episode until today, so I watched the pilot on Amazon, in case they pull it.
A LOT of the jokes were ripping on the southern white stereotype.
(e.g. To Daisy: “I’d marry you if you weren’t my cousin.”
Daisy: “That never stopped anyone in THIS family before!”
To Beau: “You SHOULD raise money for the local orphanage, you are probably responsible for at least a couple of the kids there!”)
Southerners loved the show, and laughed right along with it, just as black people used to laugh at Bill Cosby in “Let’s Do It Again” and Jimmy Walker in “Good Times”.
