Sony has given gamers a first look at the design of its next console as well as some of the titles it will play.
The PlayStation 5 has a black core surrounded by curved white edging, and a blue glow.

For every 1 you buy 10 dollars will be donated to BLM aka Democrat campaign coffers.
Certainly didn’t show anything to get excited about, did it?
Xbox backward compatibility will ensure all those games you bought in the past are not obsolete.
I can’t really tell the difference between the graphics of this new generation and PlayStation 4. If there has been any advance, I’m guessing it’s behind the scenes where they’ve been able to lower costs of producing graphics
What? No GTA 6?
We’re beyond the ‘big leaps’ now. If the delta is going from X/fps to Y/fps on X resolution to Y resolution, with X polygons/sec to Y polygons/sec - then it does require orders of magnitude of increased processing performance...but it isn’t as appreciable as a delta from last generation consoles.
I did note some pretty cool aspects - the level of detail, reflections in water, the physics being performed on smaller items, it’s incremental but all adds up.
That said, it does end up being a bit underwhelming. I don’t see the days of ‘wow - gotta get that’ happening anymore, unless there’s a radical technology breakthrough.
...just reading a few things. Apparently this will be able to output 8K resolution. It also does real-time ray tracing, which will be a first - so shadows, reflections, etc., are far more ‘correct’. It may be hard to appreciate but I’ve waited 30 years to see it.
The only thing I did note was that lines were smoother than before. Not a big difference to my eyes.
However,if I were a computer artist, Id probably be wowed, I suspect.
For later
If I can’t have a BFG 9000, I ain’t playing.
I know enough about the economics of gaming that being able to do graphics more inexpensivel, that, if to the eyes of the gamer that there is hardly any difference between game generations, it allows them to invest in longer games or more complex game playing than what would otherwise be allowed.
Also, since this is the first generation of games for the PSr5, that the first generations never have the most impressive graphics. Those will be coming in later games even a couple of years from now.
Corporate extortion for liberals is everywhere. I can’t get a cable/satellite package that doesn’t include Disney/ESPN and some Spanish channels. Corporate lobbying dollars hold consumers hostage for liberal causes. Colleges suppress free (conservative) speech. Cops are under attack by the media. Soon you won’t be able to buy/sell without some sort of approval mark.
PS5 can do 4K graphics. PS4 cannot.
The first one is an incredible game.

2k, 4k, and 8k and future resolutions are just bragging numbers for most people, because once you hit the eye’s limit of resolution it does not matter.
Unless you want to spend $15,000 on a 120” screen, it doesn’t much matter.
Agree, that is almost always the case. That said, ray tracing is a fundamentally different way of rendering graphics. You can take an older game and just enable ray tracing and it’ll look much better...no changes needed.
