Yup. Do they think Tesla isn’t tracking exactly how their autos are being used? Sensors, instrumentation, data processing and data logging are so cheap that they can track everything — all for later “maintenance” uses, of course.
Tesla auto’s are really pretty simple. All the high tech and is done up front in R&D. Beyond the battery there isn’t any exotic materials or complex machining.
Electric motor’s are dead simple compared to Internal Combustion engines and there is not super complicated automatic transmission.
It’s pretty much a racket and Musk knows it.
