Welcome to the CHAZ, the newly named Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone, where most everything was free Tuesday.
Free snacks at the No-Cop Co-op. Free gas masks from some guy’s sedan. Free speech at the speaker’s circle, where anyone could say their piece. A free documentary movie - Ava DuVernay’s “13th” - showing after dark.
A Free Capitol Hill, according to no shortage of spray paint on building facades. And perhaps most important to demonstrators, the neighborhood core was free of uniformed police.

A man passed out flyers calling for a Thursday meeting to help answer the question now lingering for demonstrators.
“I support this, but what’s next?” said Max Hodges.
That sentiment summarizes a cascade of questions demonstrators now face. Autonomous from what, exactly? Who is leading? How long can it last? Is it a distraction from the larger movement for police accountability and racial justice?
Sarah Tornai, a demonstrator leading by microphone Tuesday, called for pragmatic organization so demonstrators remain safe and in control of the area.
“We do not know when the police will arrive to reclaim this space,” Tornai told the crowd.

Or, their opsys can be “reloaded” to do all sorts of things, such as deny access to certain phones in a sector or tell the phones to broadcast at the lowest level of power.

The courts are likely half shut down by Covid, and the mayor, governor, probably the prosecutor are all hard Left Democrats. You expect a lawsuit to be enforced?

nothing in/ nothing out. When they do surrender make sure you have a barb wire camp set up with shave their heads, run them thrushowers and have brn barrels ready for all their clothes. Im sure the marines caN give them a few tips on how to clean up and process a few hundred people in short order. Anyone who doesn’t want a haircut and shower can be thrown back into the autofree zone.

I was just watching some old videos of the Move thing in Philly. One couple told how they wanted to do a “bug-bomb” to get rid of the critters in their row home.
Except when they told the adjacent home (Move group) about it, the Move folks (radical ‘back to the Earth’ types), started a fight, drew guns, etc.
Lots of the folks in the neighborhood didn’t like them or their tactics. It would be nice to think that the few sane ones in the Capitol Hill neighborhood would put an end to it - but I doubt that will happen.
Let it descend into chaos and it will sort itself out.

It’s not autonomous. But then 50% of Americans don’t know wht autonomous means. Free means someone else paid for it. That makes it dependent on someone. Dependent is NOT = autonomous.
