Shocking video shows the moment several New York police officers brutally beat a cyclist who they had been riding slowly during a Black Lives Matter protest in Brooklyn.
Pierce McCaffrey had been participating in a solidarity ride during George Floyd and Black Lives Matters protests along Nassau Street near Gold Street on Sunday at around 7.40pm when the altercation took place.
According to the victim and witnesses who filmed the wild scene, McCaffrey had only been riding slowly in an effort to keep demonstrators free from police aggression.
Footage shows a pack of officers pounce on the cyclist, with one throwing clear punches at McCaffrey's head.
A cameraman - Mike Hassell - can be heard telling McCaffrey not to resist arrest.
'They started tackling me to the ground, punched me, put my hands behind my back, handcuffed me and threw me into the car,' McCaffrey explained to Streetsblog.

Spectator- “Don’t resist Bro, Don’t Resist”
Punchee- “I’m Not!”
LOL!
Andrew has already used the incident as a way to express his usual “outrage”. I’ve watched the Buffalo incident also and something fishy went on for several seconds, between the skinny old guy and the cop—old guy’s holding something that looks electronic in his hand and reaches down toward the cop’s belt/waist and tries to run (”scan”) this thing over something on the cop’s belt or in his waist area. It’s clear he’s trying to do something.. it’s been surmised that this was an attempt to scramble the cop’s scanner. I believe it. These kinds of set-ups go on like clockwork, they last (luckily) briefly because they’re bogus and can’t stand any further inspection or analysis. They last just long enough to make it through one news cycle where Gov. Cuomo gets to express his phony outrage.
It’s called “constructing a false narrative”. I hope that’s the last time he does something like “running cover for the demonstrators”—he wasn’t a hero, he was a chump, almost like HE was set up by his friends, the demonstrators, to take the blows for them. Ha!
YOU ARE CORRECT!They’re worse in NYC!
Me too and that’s what separates us from the marxists and cop haters. Yes, the police should behave well, after all, they have the power to arrest and make our lives hell when they do wrong, but a siren and flashing lights have always meant ‘get out of the way’.
FWIW, a MSP just told me that if someone happened upon a cop getting a beatdown by thugs and *if* that someone just happened to have a Slugger in the car that they applied aggressively to the thug’s skull, nothing would happen to the person.
So there it is.
Well, assisting a policeman getting beaten is usually not frowned upon to put it mildly. With these nutcase “protesters” I’d help a cop out too.
