If the moon is slowly moving away from the earth, eventually there won't be any total eclipses of the sun visible from earth--they would become annular eclipses. But it won't happen soon so I will let someone else worry about it.

If we put a permanent manned station on the moon, sooner or later they will witness a total eclipse of the sun by the earth. It may not be as dramatic as a total eclipse seen on the earth--the earth's atmosphere would mean that a ring of light would be visible even when the sun was behind the earth, and with no atmosphere on the moon would they see the solar corona?
