John Brown participant not given up by a governor, Lincoln did not support troops in Mexican War both in Column 3. (My comment: IIRC, Lincoln may actually have voted to supply the troops, but he did vote to censure President Polk for beginning the Mexican War. I have read somewhere that that censure vote was the reason Lincoln did not get selected to be a candidate for representative to the US House of Representatives again.)
