Hi,
I was wondering if other people felt that we seem to be posting very long posts recently.
It's not a huge deal, but sometimes I don't really like reading through a very long post.
Maybe I'm being a stickler but I just wondered if anyone else felt that way.
Thanks! Julie

Perhaps they belong in a separate thread.

Yeah, it hurts my brain, too!
Why don't you just skip the article, and go straight to the responses? I hear that a lot of FReepers do that!

You could just read the first 3 sentences and move on to the comments.

What is this, Twitter?
It's very easy to skip to the next post if comments are too long for you.

And you can pretty much get the idea from the first couple of sentences.

No, I can’t stand Twitter. But you’re right, this is a place for serious discussion. Twitter is NOT!

I don’t have time to read every thread even if they are short. I choose topics that are of interest to me and stick with those.
When it comes to individual posts written by FR members to a thread, I find those that are informative and otherwise of value, and I remember the poster’s FR name to follow in the future.
I suggest you learn to find topics that interest you and follow FR members that help you rather than complain about length of posts or threads.

Yes, that is good advice. I often bookmark threads like that. Thanks!

Read a short sentence, lie down a while with a cool compress on your forehead keeping your eyes tightly shut.
In a short time you will be able to arise and read another even longer sentence this time without moving your lips.

You make a good point. And long posts actually hurt the poster more than they hurt the reader.
The poster obviously thinks his post is important, and should be read. And quite often thats true. But many folks - me included - just skip over long posts entirely. Dont read them at all.
So,
Long, wordy posts - bad
Short, to the point posts - good
Funny animal pictures - best
