Russian cops kick the living crap out of criminals as a matter of routine. The Russian people have no problem with it either. They expect the police to do this. There is no such thing as ‘’police brutality’’ in Russia.

It's a fact of life in most of the former Warsaw Pact countries that this is how the police do their job. Eastern Europeans are not used to the kind of mayhem and disorder common in the West. They don't like it. They see it as destabilizing and a threat to public safety and social order.
