I know this might put me on the wrong side of some, but I’ve been to Russia and found that I thoroughly liked the Russians I met and got to know. Sad history of perpetual bad rulers and politics, and well hated by their immediate neighbors. On that point, consider what much of the world’s population thinks of us. Russians can be refreshingly blunt and intolerant of bulls***, unless a gun’s at their head (a position all too common in their history). And if they like you they love you. Passionate talkers and great company. If I had the option of spending an evening with a group of Germans, Brits, Frenchmen, or Russians it would be no contest, Tovaritch.

I worked for a conservative think tank during the early 80’s and got to know Yuri Bezmenov, the KGB defector. He spent two weeks with us and opened our eyes. He loved America and detested the Media and bastards like Ted Kennedy. He “handled” Kennedy on a trip to Moscow and Yuri said he was a real bastard.
