Same here. I won’t say what I think and want for the media on a public forum.
Have been in Poland several times since the dissolution of Communism, mostly in the regions around Poznan and Silesia. Great people (who hate the crap out of their Russian neighbors, with good reason). But to be honest, I felt more in common with the Russkis. They’re the only ones who knew what it felt like to go through forty five years of expecting and accepting likely any-time-now incineration by the other side. It actually created a sort of bond of understanding, and relief that we both somehow managed to avoid it.
Did you go to Wroclaw? That’s a city I’d like to check out. Been looking at the Sopot/Gdansk/Gdynia area as well.
I went to where my customers were. Would have loved to see Gdansk and Warsaw but was always on business and a tight schedule. Krakow is beautiful, comparable to Prague.
Yes, been to Krakow and Warsaw.
I would love to spend Christmas in Zakopane.
Thank you.
I see your point about the Russians.
I feel for the Poles because they were invaded and occupied by the USSR under Stalin and Hitler at the same time. Then they had to suffer under the USSR for over 50 years.
I subscribe to “Bald and Bankrupt” on YouTube, he spends a lot of time in the former Soviet Union, in places like Belarus, he’s a Brit, but he speaks pretty good Russian, he talks to the common people there, it’s one of my favorite YT channels.
The Poles have over centuries been invaded by just about everybody. Germans, Swedes, Balts, Russians, Mongols, the list goes on. But somehow they managed to retain their language, religion, and culture (let’s not include their cuisine). And they’ve had glorious shining moments like the relief of Vienna from imminent destruction by the Ottomans. They survive and given the chance they thrive.
Outstanding! Best way to handle a petulant child.
Yes, they are to be admired.
Gosh I wonder how Stalin would have handle this weirdo?
Not a cop certainly and not Antifa more likely. It looks like a supermarket and a guy has issues with the clerks meaning shoplifting. Other guys are CHOP meaning private securities who are hired by businesses for these issues.
The Poles have a centuries-long history of being conquered, divided, invaded, united, re-divided, parceled-out, Soviet occupation, etc. That has to leave a certain mindset.
We lost a LOT of family property to the Soviets and Poles in 1945 when the Soviets invaded Danzig and threw out the Germans who had been there since 1200.
