Im starting to think of the church as a gigantic Faberge Easter egg that you can stand in the middle of, instead of holding in your hand. I made a lovely friend through the Good Omens fandom and he mentioned his travels, so I begged him as a stay-at-home for a travelogue, and he began with his trip to Russia and exulted over this church. So I looked it up and, voila, I had my next project. Asked about music, and he enthused over this one, which he had sung in chorus. I love putting friends, and the memory of friends, into videos. It makes playing them that much nicer.

If you enjoy seeing the work of non-famous painters, I did this video around 1990 of Alayne Gelfands art to the music of Hertel. I deeply enjoy her experimentation and the various styles she tries. Theres a feel of German Expressionism to a few, but its her stained glass look that fascinates me. Her art has sold for some good prices.

Thanks mairdie, I would love to see this in person.
Although St. Basil’s in Moscow probably gets more glamour shots, I’ve heard its interior is not impressive, as it’s all broken up into hallways or tunnels. I love the onion dome architecture.
I’ve been informally studying Russian for a couple years and just for fun ordered 3-D puzzles of both structures.
They were fun to put together, but of course had no inside features.

Lovely as always!
Could you eventually do an Ancient Greek one? Not right this minute or anything but sometime?
I really enjoy these posts.

Wonderful. Just Wonderful.
I have sung that once or twice when I was in church choir.

Thanks Mairdie for bringing us pure beauty which is so hard to find these days.
