You can freeze them until you have enough to can.
I don’t know how it affects jumping worms, but that vinegar mix will most likely kill any plants it gets on. Be aware of that.
If you do a search on the terms “battery” and “earthworm”, you can find instructions for how to use a 12v battery to drive worms up to the surface where they can be collected. I recommend wearing both rubber gloves and rubber boots, just to be safe. Once you have them in a bucket, you can sort the normal earthworms from the jumping ones.
Birds will probably eat them, but they might have a hard time keeping a grip very long. Any worms they drop while trying to fly, might result in an infestation wherever they fall.
I didn’t know about plots before I found my Daisy Plot at the pound as a puppy last spring. Got very lucky with her. Smart, loving and stubborn. Mine looks just like the bottom pic.
green beans I’d blanch first. Although I might skip the ice bath and just do a quick rinse with tapwater to cool them off. If there are so few at a time then keep it simple.
I’ve heard about the Irish Spring treatment and forgot about it.
I’ll definitely check that out. Thanks for reminding me.
And sometimes people mistake one for the other! :-)
No wonder why I chipped a tooth on that Katahdin,
I guess I better stick to mashed potatoes !
“Katahdin” sounds like an woman’s name.
Three Potatoes are standing on a corner. How can you tell which one is a prostitute?
The one that bears the tag: IDAHO.
