Through my ongoing conversations with friends, teammates, and leaders in the black community, I realize this is not an issue about the American flag. It has never been. We can no longer use the flag to turn people away or distract them from the real issues that face our black communities.
We did this back in 2017, and regretfully I brought it back with my comments this week. We must stop talking about the flag and shift our attention to the real issues of systemic racial injustice, economic oppression, police brutality, and judicial & prison reform. We are at a critical juncture in our nation’s history! If not now, then when?
We as a white community need to listen and learn from the pain and suffering of our black communities. We must acknowledge the problems, identify the solutions, and then put this into action. The black community cannot do it alone. This will require all of us.

What this pathetic excuse for a man doesn’t realize is he’s never ever going to get the respect from the SJW types because he dared to utter words they disagree with.
They know his sudden cowering before them isn’t a change of heart but an act of cowardice and capitulation.
And these acts of cowardice have burned the bridge connecting him to Patriotic Americans that were proud of his initial statements.
In effect, he has thrown his now-deceased family that fought for our nation he said he was so proud of under the bus, and then all of us who backed him for those statements under the bus with them.
If it’s not about the flag, why kneel to protest the flag?

He then went into seclusion after retirement and basically flipped the bird to his critics. he, like Tim Allen’s TV show title, may be the last man standing.

It may appear that Americans (heavily male in this particular case), normally will allow anything to be done by sports figures as long as those sports figures keep playing.
The activists and their managers/sponsors/handlers have most likely figured out the breaking-even ground for the American audience.
Those who attend or even watch the games on television have consciously made a decision: The love of sports is more than the love of the American Constitution and even the safety of their families.
Prior to 2020 excuses the sports loving American could make excuses and hedge bets. The events in 2020 have torn the curtain and the decision as to who they choose to love and honor cannot be hid.

Drew....Trump has done more for the black community then any recent President. Look at the stats ! The media doesn’t report it. He gets whats going on, just like the white community. Sad to say nothing is going to change. It’s been like this since the ‘60’s.

Ok, then how about protesting the rainbow flag to bring attention to the “real issues” and see how that’s received.
I’ve always said that if people would just start saying “no” to the PC indoctrination at work, school, etc., the whole PC house of cards would come tumbling down, especially if the potent weapon of ridicule were employed against it. However, it appears that most people don’t have the guts to do so, not even an elite quarterback who certainly has so much money that the usual economic blackmail that is employed to keep dissidents in line shouldn’t be a threat to him.
Instead, it appears that Brees allowed his own good nature to be turned against him by guilting him into compliance. What he doesn’t realize is that by giving in, he becomes an unwitting accomplice to the tremendous cultural destruction that will be wrought by legitimizing this Marxist propaganda. I firmly believe that throughout history the bleeding hearts, pacifists, and “go along to get along” types have far more blood on their hands than do all of the hard-nosed hawks that have ever lived.
The cultural Cold War that we have been in for the past few decades has now gone hot, in a very real, very public way. Appeasement will not work, and those, like Drew Brees, who try it in order to avoid conflict will only embolden and strengthen the leftists who are our enemies.
