Irrelevant bluster.
Senate committees cannot convene grand juries. They cannot prosecute criminals. They cannot invoke the Calling Forth Act, the Insurrection Act, and they cannot call for volunteers to cause the laws to be faithfully executed in the face of combinations too powerful to be suppressed in the ordinary course of judicial proceedings.
Despite all the recent examples to the contrary, Senators should not and in fact do not have the authority to harass private citizens in a simulation of an Executive Branch activity (investigation and prosecution).
If the seditionists are not arrested by US Marshals (because there's no one else who would obey orders to do so) and put in front of a military tribunal (if there are any officers who would obey orders to do so), then the government is going to be overthrown.
There are not going to be any hearings where the principal seditionists will be subject to compulsory process - nor should there be, as such hearings would have no valid legislative or criminal law enforcement purpose.
Everything you said is absolutely correct. Senate committees cannot do any of those things, but what they can do, if they choose to, is shine a light. And out themselves in some cases.
I have been encouraged by the number of non-political friends who are now paying attention for the first time. Many are finding themselves agreeing that Trump may not be as bad as they have heard. It will be interesting to see how they feel about information that could be brought out in these hearings.
Many of us already know, but some of them are just waking up.
