Irrelevant bluster.
Senate committees cannot convene grand juries. They cannot prosecute criminals. They cannot invoke the Calling Forth Act, the Insurrection Act, and they cannot call for volunteers to cause the laws to be faithfully executed in the face of combinations too powerful to be suppressed in the ordinary course of judicial proceedings.
Everything you said is absolutely correct. Senate committees cannot do any of those things, but what they can do, if they choose to, is shine a light. And out themselves in some cases.
I have been encouraged by the number of non-political friends who are now paying attention for the first time. Many are finding themselves agreeing that Trump may not be as bad as they have heard. It will be interesting to see how they feel about information that could be brought out in these hearings.
Many of us already know, but some of them are just waking up.
They can make criminal referrals.
They can introduce evidence into the public domain.
They can lay the groundwork of public opinion in preparation for criminal indictments of key public figures.
The can set a 'narrative'.
They can pressure the enemy to turn on one another in order to 'save' themselves.
You think as a small child.
And you have negative karma.
