Those unarmed NG troops? Rumors that Antifa got hold of NG uniforms and were planning to shoot into the crowd to escalate. By publicizing that the NG is unarmed, this is nipped in the bud.

Seems plausible to me, but I have no idea what’s true.
BTW, there was a photo of a massively defaced Lincoln Memorial floating around today which turned out to be fake. There HAS been some vandalism at the Memorial, but AFAIK, the statue has not been vandalized or broken.
