This is what I am also thinking—exactly, but you articulate it so much better than I would.

Plus, now that so many are working from home, there really isn’t a reason for so many congressional aides, lobbyists, and federal desk jockeys at the various agencies to be in D.C. anyway.

Trump is better off being in some friendly state for the time being, bringing revenue (from some gov. workers who will have to stay hotels for a bit to support him) to it that the local residents will appreciate.

The White House can be repaired, or rebuilt if necessary. The 90% of the inhabitants of D.C. and the well-off Virginia and Maryland suburbs who are demonrats can sit at home and think about who they have supported all these years while government activity in D.C. slows down—as does the spending by gov. employees and lobbyists at fancy restaurants and shops that are probably mostly owned by one of the 90%.

OK, I’m putting Bagster down as a likely “no” ;-) But with extra credit for graphic imagery.

It would really be in the people’s best interest to decentralize the DC bureaucracy, but I’m still back to battle strategy. We’ve seen enough movies to know what the previews are going to look like - all the cries of brutality and images of youts getting tourniquets for rubber bullet booboos and arguments about whether pepper balls are tear gas or not...

Still, winning the war is more important than and single battle.

Let’s imagine another movie, this one 5 months from now with Trump re-elected in a landslide and Republicans taking back the House and increasing it’s margin in the Senate. What does he do today that makes that movie a reality? Or, what does he NOT do that would prevent it or make it more difficult?
