Posted yesterday, the interview was done yesterday too.
If you look at the TV ratings on ShowBuzzDaily.com you can see how ALL the cable stations and networks, including Fox, are BLEEDING viewers in the 18-49 age demographic. 80% of the audiences of those shows on cable are viewed by age 50 and over. BTW - CNN is taking audience from Maddow, who is also bleeding viewers, although Cuomo is taking that audience.
In less than one day this interview has already been watched over 1.2 million times (and this is nearly THREE HOURS) while his Elon Musk interview 4 weeks ago has 14 MILLION watches.
Don't ignore these two, you will be watching two emerging media stars. And like the original Crossfire with Buchanon and Braden, they are friendly with each other and don't get personal, unlike today's mostly worthless collection of talking heads taking shots at each other without teaching you anything.
I read somewhere that Rogan has 100 million downloads a month. So thats an audience of 1.2 billion a year.
Old media is in its death throes. And why wouldnt it be? Newspapers and especially TV news are very limited in their scope. An in depth report on a TV news is 3 minutes. Usually a report is 30 seconds. Its ridiculous.
The internet allows unlimited content, unlimited views, in any length or format, whenever you want it.
And as the MSM dies, its naturally going to become more and more insular, ideological and toxic. We are witnessing that now.
Rogan just signed a 100 million dollar deal with Spotify to move all his content there and ditching YouTube in the process
SAAGER WAS UNBELIEVABLY GREAT YESTERDAY! OMG!! It was IMPRESSIVE!
Of the two of them Saagar is definitely more conservative and can be quite insightful.
However, the most refreshing thing about The Hill’s “rising” show is that both Krystal Ball and Saggar are intellectually honest, and neither is a talking points partisan.
Krystal Ball is a progressive, but she’s the rarest variety of progressive in that she is smart, well-informed, and intellectually honest. Even when I think she gets the facts wrong, I really believe that she’s trying to be intellectually honest. I often disagree with her, but appreciate her for making the very best progressive arguments. Of course, I also appreciate that she calls out lying, hypocrisy, and smugness of both Democrats and Republicans.
I don’t know about that, just yesterday on one of their YouTube videos Krystal was blaming the violence on the police, she made the point multiple times that the only reason there was violence was because of the police.
And for once Saagar actually punched back on her instead of letting here just do her normal hit and run.
Krystal is basically just 2 steps above Jimmy Dore, and that isn’t a compliment.
You are correct that she is often wrong. She’s still a progressive after all.
But even in this case, I think, she is making the most coherent argument from the side of progressives. (I haven’t watched it yet, so your particular observation could be an exception to what I have observed of “rising” thus far.)
Sure, her conclusions are frequently dead wrong and poorly substantiated. But we can still learn the very best argument put forward by progressives. In the case you cite, we see just how poorly even the best of progressives reasons on the subject of looting and rioting. I doubt that she’s just spouting partisan talking points, but rather making her best argument for her palpably ridiculous conclusion.
I do get what you mean about Jimmy Dore, and understand that’s not a compliment. I’m not a socialist, either. But even Jimmy Dore doesn’t lie like the liars who present Democrat propaganda continuously in corporate media.
I was not impressed with Krystal Ball. She keeps repeating the talking points, just with different and more words.
