State Sen. Randy Feenstra defeated incumbent Rep. Steve King in Tuesday's Republican primary for Iowa's 4th congressional district, according to the Cook Political Report.
Why it matters: King's history of racist remarks has made him one of the most controversial politicians in the country and a pariah within the Republican Party.
House Republican leadership stripped the nine-term congressman of his committee assignments in 2019 after he questioned in an interview with the New York Times how the terms "white nationalist, white supremacist, Western civilization" became offensive. The big picture: The Republican establishment coalesced around Feenstra beginning in January, when the Republican Main Street Partnership PAC became the first national GOP organization to publicly endorse and financially support him.
Feenstra, who has consistently dominated King in fundraising, had sought to paint King as an ineffective ally to President Trump, rather than campaign on his history of white nationalist rhetoric. Feenstra's victory will likely move the seat into safe Republican territory for the general election in November.

King was a solid consevative- maybe not a solid trunp vote..
Still, woueld rather have a solid conservative.
Would vote with Trump when it matters.
It took Steve King a little too long to finally start supporting Trump a couple years ago.
I never felt too comfortable about that.
Steve King of Iowa was not a RINO
He said things that sounded bad regarding white supremists
Rick Wilson, Steve Schmitt et al are all celebrating this defeat, should tell you everything
So now we follow the liberal medias' narrative? We let them define us? We concede they're right?
Steve Kings problems began with Washington Examiners Williamson who could have cited the many times the New York Times has been cited for using misquotes when assembling his report on Cruz and Scotts reaction to of condemnation to the alleged racist remarks made by Iowa Congressman Steve King. .
Williamson could have as well then ask both US Senators Scott and Cruz Can the New York Times under those circumstances be trusted ask if they considered that and include their reaction when making their statements in his report..
What King was denouncing was the assertions raised by the NYT interviewer using questions that reference common idoms used but are being attacked in socialist revisionist propaganda circles as racist.
That technique method is similar to NYT use of questions about LGBT practices when seeking a reaction from by a religious figure.. Which have been manipulated and blown up to be prohibited expressions under guise of being politically incorrect ..
What Williamson did was because of his lazy journalism. Which is common practice unfortunately in too many so called conservative communication venues in visual, print and talk radio. Was to support and continue to validate the “politically correct posture regurgitated by socialist revisionists.
I was going to say “you must be new here”, but obviously you’re not.
Steve King lost because he made a few inexcusably stupid statements.
Not saying he hadn’t done a good job, just that he made a few stupid a decisions.
He is. Just another Chamber of Commerce tool.
Clearly this guy is a Ryan-Romney, GOP-establishment, solid MAGA-Trump fanatic.
We’ll see next year, provided he wins in November. And then we’ll know who is totally full of $hit on this thread.
Id the law allows. he shuold run Third psrty.
Many here have swallowed the liberal Democratic media narrative. 'King is a racist' and had to go.
Is it any wonder we lose when we don't defend our own?
While Democrats rally the troops we throw our own overboard by accepting how the liberal media defines us.
The same day here developed a history of racist remarks. The game news isn’t even trying any more
I think the odds that he is a racist are very low, but he certainly had a talent for making poorly phrased statements that could be misinterpreted as racist by the MSM -- and always were. Yes, that's unfair, but it's how the political game is played, and King should have been more careful.
He is not a RINO. People confuse him with Steve King.
RINO’S are noted for racist remarks?
Since when?
And just when did Steve King become a racist then?
Just keep your nonsense coming will ya?
You are making absolutely no sense.
Should be Peter King.
Lazy journalism is the norm inside the beltway.
Clueless.

Yes, we're done. Our side is not united and has no guts beyond a keyboard.
The left blatantly supports violent criminals and domestic terrorists and makes ZERO apologies.
