I for sure would advise her to get further outside the city limits. Hopefully she will have her own car. The metro and bi-state buss was ok in the daytime, but iffy at night.
In fact, I would not be any where on or around campus & downtown, unless I was with a large group of people after dark. I attended night school @ UMSL (Normandy-Florissant Area), but I was in a car pool and not alone.
I worked at what is now Bank of America Plaza, and we had security guard escorts at night if we requested it. Which I sometimes had to do. That is at the corner of Market and 8th.
Thank you for sharing info pertaining to living in St. Louis. We will be apartment hunting this Friday and Saturday. Daughter told me earlier today that a 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. curfew has been imposed. That means no brew pub visits. Bummer. However, a cousin, whom I have not seen in way too many years and lives about 45 minutes west, plans to join us for supper-in on Friday with his wife and daughter. (smile)
