Neil Diamond - Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show
I prefer the version from his Gold album, live from the Troubadour
It really is an infectious song.
LOVE that album.
I spent five dollars to see Neil in 1973 in SF.
Drinks were $2.
Great show.
Do not listen to this song while driving. You can unknowingly go from 55 mph to 80 mph before the song is over without realizing it. Don’t ask me how I know.
A favorite.
Always loved that song! Good memories of those times.
Years ago, there was a column by an entertainment writer (in Chicago, I think) who recounted how Neil Diamond (who she was interviewing) came on to her like a ‘lounge lizard’. He seemed full of himself - based on that story, and propositioned her. I was very young at the time, but remember reading that.
Thanks, always a foot-tapper!
And your comment is?
I saw Neil Diamond’s name all of a sudden.
I thought it meant he might have “checked out.”
Glad was wrong.
I know he just retired a year or two ago, mainly due to Parkinson’s Disease. Hard for anybody, but especially for a singer or guitarist.
He was a big deal - probably had groupies galore and was not used to being turned down.
Saved--Laverne Baker
Love it!
But it’s already been in my head for several days now (having watched an old video of my mom, sister and me singing it in a choral group on stage) so I guess now it’ll keep going for a few more days!
“And your comment is?”
Just what I wrote.
“probably had groupies galore and was not used to being turned down.”
Probably. I just remember the column because she made fun of that expectation.
Amy & Howard LOVE NEIL DIAMOND!!!
