“The cause of death is critical in critical obtaining a murder conviction”

What is critical is the fact. that the officers acted with disregard to his life by not immediately releasing the pressure and tending to his medical condition as soon as he became nonresponsive.

“So if he died of a drug overdose whose fault is it?”

LOL! He overdosed, drove to the store, constrained by the cops, walked across the street and then died from the overdose?

Perhaps he swallowed a bunch of drugs when he saw the cops coming. Maybe he didn’t want to get caught with anything because as an ex-con he could be sent back to prison for a long time.

I have no proof of that, just speculation.

I am waiting for the facts to come out to see what the truth is.

The coroner said he did not die of asphyxiation, if I remember right, so the knee on the neck thing maybe didn’t cause the death.

MPD sworn duty:

1. Cease the use of force when person in not actively resisting or threatening to resist.

2. Render aid to a person in medical extremis.

Drug overdose? What are the odds MPD medical kits carry Naloxone for suspected opioid OD since 2018?

Agreed. Will be very interesting what they charge him with. Hope its severe enough that it might dissuade the culture of tolerating bad apples/conduct under the guise of the blue shield, otherwise the police are just a bigger better armed American gang.

The cop’s knee impeded the flow of blood to the victim’s brain. That’s why he passed out. The cop then kept the pressure on to kill him.

A big point mentioned in the video is that the knee to the neck technique is not about asphyxiation, but rather cutting of blood supply to the brain to reduce resistance/consciousness. Therefore it must be removed as soon as a person passes out to prevent brain injury/death, which did not happen for 3 minutes after George Floyd was clearly out.

The knee-on-neck cop had 17 prior excessive force complaints in his file. All but one were dismissed. That might have given him some confidence that the odd were in his favor.

I'm totally with you. But ... he was being video'd by people who clearly were not fans of what he was doing ... in this day and age when every cop's got to know it's goin' right to Mr. Internet ... not just reported to his superiors ... did he think he was gonna get a bunch of likes and thumbs up? Become a social media hero? (rhetorical question)

All I'm saying is ... I guess I'm never baffled by malfeasance and humans causing suffering (and death) to other humans. That's common and par for the course since the beginning of man. Some people are just missing the empathy gene and I don't mean that in a snowflake liberal way ... some people are simply not aware that there is a difference between banging a man's head with a hammer and banging a nail with a hammer. It's common even if not to that extreme.

But ... the brash stupidity of doing this while being video'd IF there is no explanation ... is a remarkable thing.

“”””. The cop then kept the pressure on to kill him.”””””””

So in your opinion it has now escalated to First Degree Murder.

Boy, FREEPER Court is harsh.

That’s pretty cool how you can do that without facts.

The rare occurrence when knee-on-neck cop lost his smug face and took his hands off his hips--he grabbed his can of mace, ready to keep an onlooker at bay. Knee-on-neck cop was handily multi-tasking while the man was dying in his custody.
