So, I’m thinking Zone 7 is your growing zone - lucky you!

Critter issues have been discussed here a LOT! Homemade repellents or purchased ones, ‘Critter Ridder’ or ‘Repels All’ have given me good results. I’m not over run but I have Chippy and Raccoon issues.
I’ve been having one of our hunting dogs sleep on the front porch this week. I was closing up the kitchen for the night and the porch light came on and a BRAZEN raccoon was looking at me through the kitchen storm door! I’m guessing it was the same one that disassembled my porch pot the other night and stole one of my ceramic mushrooms, LOL!
I have gardened through too much rain and drought conditions. I will take a drought over too much rain any day! I have a well, so watering during drought is a PITA, but I’ve never had better tomatoes and peppers than in dry years.
Book recommendations in next post.
Thank you so much for the link and the book info!! I just purchased some of the Repel All and man, it repels me if nothing else! Whoosh!! It is all kinds of stinky!! But I want zucchini and hot peppers that I grow myself so I shall persevere!! :)
Oh the dogs are driven batty by the chippies!! Our JRT runs from one window to the next barking and growling at them! I do have some red taters coming up in our raised garden bed and those little *&^%$#@#&Y have been pulling the potatoes up and eating them and they don't even have the decency to actually eat the whole tater!!! They eat about half and then leave their calling card of a half eaten potato for me to find! Little rats!!
Again, thank you so much!! I'm so glad I have a bit more time now to come back to FR and check in and post and see how everyone is! I've been a member a long time but work kept me to only posting mainly on the weekends and lurking but I am no longer working so I have a little more time to give to FR and for that, I'm truly grateful!!
thank you again!!
