Try rice in a solar oven. Even plain long grain white rice comes out with a nutty taste.
Foil covered angled cardboard box would work as the oven without any long term investment if you just want to give it a go for the taste.
Zero rice at the stores here.
My eyes! The only work crew guy who showed up next door has his pants on the ground. Literally. Mooning me the whole time he’s been working. No!!!!! Sadly, as horrible as that sight is, it isn’t as bad as their continuous boom, boom, boom loud music.
I’ve always wanted to try a solar oven; so I’ll save your tip.
(I have a FR acquaintance who apparently enjoys gardening in the altogether. But his property is isolated enough that nobody can see him..:-)
