Cool! Buried for centuries like the one I showed you from Dinnington.

OSHA would shut them down in a minute for a trench like that.

There they go again.
Finding more beautiful things the Romans built to last the ages.

Nah, why waste all that craftsmanship covering Slow Joe’s brain? It’s barely enough to qualify for a sheet of linoleum.

And here I can barely get a kitchen floor to last 15 years.
To: SunkenCiv
It’s beautiful, but why bury it underground?

“OSHA would shut them down in a minute for a trench like that.”
They wouldn’t have gotten started because the EPA wouldn’t issue the necessary permits and the union wouldn’t turn the first shovel of dirt without the permits and the kickbacks.

Well, at least for putting humans in the trench without collapse protection. That caught my eye right away, too.

There’s nothing more beautiful in antiquity than mosaics (IMO).
Thanks SC!

That floor is looking good for hundreds of years under a layer of dirt.

OT, but those guys need some expert assistance on trench shoring. That is a disaster waiting to happen.
How did so much earth get put upon the ancient floor? Did the landowner have it brought in to creat more arable land?
To: Redcitizen
Hundreds of years
Try 18 of hundreds!
To: SunkenCiv
Amazing. What’ll they dig up next?
To: Redcitizen
looks like a sewage trench.
