I was shocked by the headline. Then I read the article.
Not surprised. The Congress government are monsters, fashioning a society in their unspeakable image

Some years ago, my wife and I refused screening for Down Syndrome etc. we politely explained that there was no need as we would do nothing with the information, as abortion was against Jewish law in such circumstances.

They proceeded to try to perform the test anyway, until I told them I was not paying for it. At the threat of withholding money, they became rather disagreeable, but finally backed down.

A day later the police arrived for a welfare check because they had been told by “a healthcare professional” that my wife was being abused.

I have a young cousin with Downs. She is doing beautifully, and is adored by her family.

That said, premarital testing is not necessarily an evil. Some Jewish communities encourage young people to test if they carry the Tay Sachs gene, and other fatal alleles. That way, they can determine if a match is a no go before there is any emotional attachment, let alone the birth of a doomed child.

Of course, in China, they might decide not to let certain people marry or have any children.
