Mega-dittos prayers up!
Rush did not sound well when he began his show, but when he got back into his groove he sounded like he was back in 1990.
prayers up
God please help this great man! He is a patriot and hero to us conservatives! I found him on the radio in the Summer of 1992.
Me too! I first came upon Rush through his television show. I was just a few months out of high school, about to start college. A wide-eyed doe in the wild. Listening to Rush Limbaugh prepared me for the outside world, how things REALLY are (and how they ought to be, LOL).
A little over a year later I was able to get a call through to his show. We talked for about five minutes or so. A few months ago I came upon the audio cassette of the call. Am still very proud of that.
Praying
Ditto . He sounded really weak , at first , today.
I also found him on the radio for the first time in summer of 92. Have been a regular lister since. I was fortunate enough to call into his show that following spring.
i felt like he was preparing us - which may just be a reflection of a tough time in the treatment. praying that this round is successful and that he is headed for better days.
I pray he will beat this with one hand tied behind his back. This country still needs Rush.
I credit Rush for saving my wife and I from the liberal soup we had found ourselves in the early 2000’s. He yanked us out of the quagmire.
My wife and I just had our 30th anniversary, when were dating 1988-1989, I told her to listen to this guy on the radio named Rush Limbaugh, we were both Conservative and I thought she would enjoy his show.
So she started to listen, it just so happens that Rush was asking women to send pictures of themselves into the show before they would be allowed to get thru if they called.
She came home one day, demanding to know why I would want her to listen to a pig like Rush Limbaugh.....I had to explain that she needed to give it two weeks and she would love him...
Long story short, she became a huge fan and 24/7 subscriber.
The way Rush was talking yesterday he is trying to prolong his life, lets say 2 years. But he getting the best cancer care, so who knows.
Prayers
Found Rush in 1988 -WABC weekend show- was living in PA at the extreme range of signal. my jogging route for lunch was where I could pull down best signal on walkman
My husband came home one afternoon during his lunch hour to find me up on a ladder in my kitchen sanding our kitchen cabinets, with the radio turned up rather loud.
He wondered who in the world that guy on the radio was.
I told him he ought to tune in to listen to that guy in his car radio on his way back to the office.
Im sure he didnt then, but I continued listening to that guy and shortly thereafter, told my husband Rush was coming to our fair city for a Rush to Excellent Tour and I had tickets. I asked if he would like to go with me. Being a smart guy himself, said he would go, if thats what I wanted to do.
Later the same year, a local restaurant began offering lunch once a week in a room set aside for patrons, calling it a Rush Room. I asked my husband if hed like to have lunch with me, as I planned on going. Again, he said hed go as some of his friends also told him they were going to have lunch with others while listening to Rush.
Ive been a devotee of Rush ever since and pray for his recovery ever since hearing of his cancer diagnosis.
May God continue to bless Rush and may he look back on this time in the future, as he continues encourage others who are going through the same as a cancer survivor, as he has done now.
David Limbaugh said he was saddened more over the fact that Rush doesn’t have children. Rush is a once-in-a-lifetime type of person. When he’s gone, that’s it folks. There won’t be an El Rushbo Jr. to carry on his legacy. I just hope all of his shows can be digitally archived.
“find me up on a ladder in my kitchen sanding our kitchen cabinets, with the radio turned up rather loud.”
I’m having a “ladder/Rush” flashback, too. We moved into our house in NY in September 2000. We were going to move later in the year, but wanted to be in NY to vote against Hillary for Senate. While DH was at work, I’d be painting the walls, and I have many memories doing it on a ladder while listening to Rush.
I had listened to him since the late ‘80s, and he got me through many tasks that would have been tedious without listening to him.
