You do understand that the software update does not automatically result in this “tracking” feature? You’d have to actually affirmatively enable it plus affirmatively go out and download an app.

Don’t own an Apple phone nor any Apple product. I am thankful, for a host of reasons. All the tech companies can ‘f’ off with all this tracking software BS, and it is BS!

As i mentioned the other day, Apple has released iOS 13.5 and iPadOS 13.5, but the fear of the contact tracking is overblown. The API which enable such contact tracking assure ONLY anonymized data ever leaves your Device with an encrypted identifier tag so that you can log onto the server to learn if you have been in contact with anyone who has contracted COVID19, and so that you can notify the system that you have either tested positive or developed symptoms, so that your contacts tagged with your anonymous ID tag can also learn that they’ve been exposed. Epidemiologist only see the anonymous raw data. The API is turned OFF until you turn it on and download and activate an Interactive Anonymous Covid19 Contact App and give it permission to Bluetooth scan for other active Anonymous Covid19 Contact Apps near you and exchange tags. Every step requires the user’s permission to participate. MINE STAYS OFF! —PING!

About a week ago, this warning was circulated to a number of DOD related employees -

“...are being warned not to carry any Apple iPhones, iPads, or any other Apple product, as Apple has integrated very aggressive tracking updates, including heightened hot mic, (capable of monitoring respiration), “contact tracing”, (capable of logging visits to medical providers.

Ironically, this level of surveilance represents potential increased threat to the service members and “...” personnel, and their families.

I might add, while not everyone received the warning, I am aware of staffers being warned not to even travel with their smart phones at this point, and to go “low tech”.

As this warning went out to some, the reality is, these “updates” are then obviously a threat to almost all civilians, as the “contact tracing” will net any contacts, addresses, and speech, and include pinging and conversation with Android users.

Android will likely be doing the same thing shortly, unless it already has, or in the unlikely event this is all stopped by the courts for the numerois Constitutional violations being committed here.

So far, neither the courts or Barr are doing anything to stop any of these 1st, 4th, 5th, etc... Ammendment violations, period.

Just trying to give a heads up.

This is really bad.

These tech giants are regularly and egregiously cutting off conservative free speech, and eliminating privacy, and working to eliminate the core principles of our first 10 Ammendments at the same time!

And they are doing it with impunity!

I had read about this a couple week ago and turned off the automatic updates on my iPhone. As of today it has not updated, or nagged me to update, but I see it there and have not downloaded it.

I usually hold off on updates and wait a couple of weeks at best.

My iPad was asking last night, but it still has 12.4.1, when the popup comes up I got through it and then select disagree with the terms.

My 1st Mac was an LC in the late 80’s and I have never gone back.

Starting today, our Exposure Notifications technology is available to public health agencies on both iOS and Android. What we’ve built is not an app — rather public health agencies will incorporate the API into their own apps that people install. Our technology is designed to make these apps work better.

Each user gets to decide whether or not to opt-in to Exposure Notifications; the system does not collect or use location from the device; and if a person is diagnosed with COVID-19, it is up to them whether or not to report that in the public health app. User adoption is key to success and we believe that these strong privacy protections are also the best way to encourage use of these apps.

Not sure how they could confirm you were positive when you report you are to the public health app, as it's illegal for anybody to ask. Maybe a bunch of folks will report as positive just because they can. Would be great for clearing out long lines at the supermarket, or restaurants.

I have already blocked the update on my iphone 11. Location services is disabled. I have already done testing on wrapping the phone in tinfoil (bwaaaahaha) to block beacon function ( it works) and fail safe other than leave it at home is turn it off and put it in a solid metal container. I can function without a phone if I have to.
