As demonstrated by the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) response to the pandemic, Americans have more reason than ever to understand the nature of the regime in Beijing and the threats it poses to American economic interests, security, and values. President Trump and the Administration are committed to protecting the American people, homeland, and way of life from the CCP’s malign actions and policies.
On May 20, 2020, the White House published a report in accordance with the FY2019 National Defense Authorization Act, United States Strategic Approach to the People’s Republic of China, detailing a whole-of-government strategy with respect to the People’s Republic of China (PRC).
The report was compiled by the White House and coordinated broadly across the U.S. executive branch.
As the President’s National Security Strategy says, it is time the United States “rethink the failed policies of the past two decades – policies based on the assumption that engagement with rivals and their inclusion in international institutions and global commerce would turn them into benign actors and trustworthy partners.” The report illustrates how the policies and actions of the Chinese Communist Party have compelled the United States to adopt a competitive strategy, guided by a return to principled realism.

“a return to principled realism” - amazing that this even has to be a decision. Nixon started it and every president since then has skipped down the path blindfolded and whistling. Thank God He Won.

Every nation on Earth, from western countries to sub-Saharan African nations should be doing everything possible to eliminate Chinese goods from their markets, return manufacturing to free countries that won’t steal your technology, and isolate China in every way possible. It isn’t just their totalitarian government; it’s their whole culture.
If they’re not selling us poison drywall or baby formula, they’re stealing every bit of technology they can get their hands on and using slave labor to undercut the blue collar workers everywhere else. Cut them out of our economy like the cancer they are. Isolate them politically, economically, and electronically so they can stop hacking our industries and our military. Let them wither away and toss them into the dustbin of history.

This is a dense, albeit well-reasoned, paper that presents a new position for US policy towards China. My respect for Trump and those around him just got bumped up another notch.

The report reflects a realistic awareness of Chinas malicious and hostile intentions. If taken seriously it is a major correction to the pusillanimous policies of appeasement that characterized the last four administrations. At least it indicates there are people in Washington, some of them, who are not asleep at the wheel.

I am more and more convinced that when Prez Trump blocked air travel from China on Jan 31 that he understood that this viral invasion was a conspiratorial act by China and the Democrap Party and other DS operatives {e.g. John Kerry}. The fresh China trade pact had just been signed and it was punitive towards China's global ambitions.
It also served the Democrap Party ambitions to cripple the fabulous Trump economy and plunge the US into a financial crisis. Every action POTUS took was attacked by the Dems, magnified by the traitorous MSM. As some Dems openly admitted, the crisis opened an opportunity for them to push their radical unconstitutional undemocratic agenda to transform America in their image.
We see this farce being pushed to the extreme with the pathetic campaign of Joe Biden for some office against someone. The MSM assures us that Biden is competent and is polling all over Donald Trump. They are instituting mechanisms for voter fraud and seizing control over the nation by whatever means necessary.
I hope the election is decisive and that Donald Trump wins. Even so, the DS has a long lineup of conspirators to keep bringing bogus charges against POTUS ad nauseum. Buckle up - and pray this does not turn into a civil war.

...it is time the United States rethink the failed policies of the past two decades policies based on the assumption that engagement with rivals and their inclusion in international institutions and global commerce would turn them into benign actors and trustworthy partners. A return to reality? Is that possible?
Does this mean we're going to STOP the Chinese from buying and/or bullying our companies and Universities and thugs on K Street?
We can dream.

We will hear a lot of croaking from free trait-erm, traders that are essentially Chicom agents. Made in America, while costly, is the only way to remove the Chicom attack vectors.

Let them wither away and toss them into the dustbin of history.Without the "one child" threat of a totalitarian regime keeping them in check, they'd go from 1.3 billion to 4 billion pretty quickly. That requires expansion which would result in war, probably with Russia as they took control of Siberia. After the subsequent nuke exchange there'd still be 2 billion left. Sounds like a plan, though.

Actually, I think the US pulled back from playing world police for a while (spending our blood and treasure solving everyone else’s problems for them), we’d see China and Russia forced into significant confrontation very quickly. They’re after a lot of the same stuff and if they don’t have us as an enemy to focus on (because we’re too busy rebuilding our manufacturing self-sufficiency and middle class economy), they’ll end up in conflicts that will bleed both of them.
Good. Let Russia and China bleed while we rebuild. Let them burn themselves out while we grow stronger. I also think that without the US making everyone play nicely, we’d see a lot of the ungrateful whiners around the world start to realize how good they’ve had it with the US in control. Let them see how China and Russia deal with problems when they come up and they’ll be begging for the US to come back.
