A couple years ago a neighbor woman got a pit bull puppy that naturally grew stronger. She walked that dog past my house all the time. The first time the dog got free from her it ran up to me while I was getting into my truck. Snarling and barking all over the door and window. I routinely carry and explained to the woman that I would not hesitate to shoot the dog if it ever charged my where I was vulnerable like outside. Suddenly she stopped walking the dog down my street. She was a very small woman with a dog that outweighed her. Not the dogs fault but I would not let it attack me again.

I used to jog after work around my work place. It was an industrial area with a few very run down houses nearby. When I went by one of the houses one day a pit bull charged me from the yard. This thing was very aggressive and I still believe he intended to attack me. I drew my Ruger LCP and aimed at the dog and as God is my witness the dog stopped dead in his tracks when he saw the gun. I went on my way without further incident. It was actually comical the way the dog slid to a stop.
We had some neighbors who routinely let there dogs out in the morning, and they would come up to our driveway snarling at our grand daughter and scaring her.
Our subdivision requires that dogs be on a leash, or in a pen. However, we don’t have an Association or really anyway to enforce it.
Hubby went down to their house and told the woman that he was going to shoot that dog, if it didn’t leave our grand daughter alone. All she had to do was to let it out earlier or later.
