I’ve had run ins with middle aged ladies and their unleashed dogs, including one whose chow had run up to a little boy walking to school through the park and had cornered the terrified child, barking and growling at him with hackles raised and saliva flying out of its mouth and teeth bared. I called out to the woman to get her dog and of course the dog wouldn’t obey her commands to come back to her. When she finally got it off of the child, she just let it loose again. I called out again that she needed to leash it (For one thing, it was headed towards me) and the woman let loose with a stream of obscenities directed at me. I couldn’t believe it and it was only when I took out my phone that she got the dog on its leash.
These women are nuts. Better she should be a cat lady, but I think they actually like the feeling of having a vicious dog, since in my town they all seem to have uncontrollable pits or chows.
Glad at least that this woman’s bizarre racism brought her down in this case.
At my age and experience I still have a poorly developed sense of fear from things. One of the things that makes me stop and asses the tactical situation is a woman with a pit bull.
I agree completely about women obsessed with their dogs’ “rights!” while they stand with the dog at the end of its elastic leash pooping on your lawn or front steps. They make life in a townhouse community absolute hell. They ruin others’ expensive plantings, as if dog pee is a fertizlizer (it is not; it kills grass and plants) and are verbally aggressive and hostile no matter how nicely you ask them to respect your property.
Nasty or neurotic dog behavior is a direct reflection of the person who owns the dog.
