I live in a very conservative town. Our local community has a FB group. A few conservatives in the group have been threatening people they see wearing masks for the same reason mentioned in here (government mind control, sheep, etc.) It’s not only local. I have seen a lot of mask shaming, name calling, and threats all over against people wearing masks.

My whole point is that not all of us that wear one in a crowd are liberal nutcases. A lot of us are conservatives with health issues. I wear one in crowds during flu season and have for years on advice of my doctor. I would NEVER wear one just because the government advised me to. I despise liberals as much or more than anybody here. I laugh at the things they do too.

I worry that the bullying over masks will escalate and could lead to some elderly and sick people not wearing them out of fear of being harassed. I’m not that timid but some are.

Also, a lot of businesses have had to ask people to wear them to protect themselves from lawsuits. Yes, it would be the liberals suing them but they are sued just the same. If they ask me to wear one while in their business I will comply with them to help them stay in business. I do not do it to comply with the government. I hate and distrust the CDC and WHO as much as anybody here. I know why blue states are dragging this thing out. I don’t live in a cave.

All I’m asking is that conservatives that think it’s OK to harass mask wearers are wrong. It’s not. You are possibly endangering the very people that need to be protected like the elderly and the sick because not all of them are as tough and ornery as I am. :-)

So far I have not been picked on by any liberals since we don’t have many. I have seen a lot of threats made by conservatives and I think we are better than that.
