Don't get your hopes up. No POTUS has ever been thrown into prison. Picture the first half black president in jail?

Yup. That’s the problem, it would have to be absolutely clear-cut and overwhelming evidence against any former Potus. The thing we can rely on is that Barr would not let him off if it was. We’ll have to wait and see, but for a guy who’s lived his entire life as one deception after another he would certainly have tried hard to cover his tracks. That’s why he bragged about “not even a smidgen”.

Biden could well be a whole different story, his lies deceptions have been out there for decades and now even he can’t keep them straight.

First time for everything.

I’m not picturing the first half black president in jail. I’m picturing the first non-American president in jail. I’m picturing the most corrupt person every elected president in jail.

Which is worse, jailing the first black president for spying on his successor president

Or allowing others to think they can get away with it in the future?

IOW, you’re saying that Trump’s DoJ is going to continue a double standard of justice, and let people off because of color or position or fame. That is NOT who Trump is, NOT his philosophy that he has held throughout his life, campaigned on, or holds now.

Barr means what he says:

The durham investigation is trying to get to the bottom of what happened and it will determine whether there were any federal laws broken and if there were, those who broke the laws will be held to account. This cannot be, and it will not be, a tit for tat exercise.

We are not going to lower the standards just to get a result. The only way to break away from a dual system of justice is to make sure we scrupulously apply a single and proper standards of justice for everybody. Under the long-standing standards of the department criminal charges are appropriate only when we have enough evidence to prove each element of a crime beyond a reasonable doubt.

And read bagster’s comment for good analysis:
