During the Primaries, I signed up for FB and Twitter to be a voice for candidate Donald Trump. Shortly after Inauguration Day I deleted both accounts.
I simply could no longer stand the cesspool.
The pathetically juvenile, mindless, and depraved nature of those platforms sickened me. I have no intention of ever signing on to them ever again. I have far better things to do with my time.
Whenever I get somewhat annoyed with some on FreeRepublic today in comparison to the level of discourse in the early days I remind myself of my experience on FB and Twitter and I say to myself, well it’s not what it was but, it’s far better than FB and Twitter.

Great story. This place has been my home for a long time. It suits my needs, and I’ve never been tempted to leave, because there isn’t anything better out there. I scroll the news on Bing each morning, and will maybe leave a comment or two on some sites. I also click on the source URL’s for stories posted here, and will periodically post comments at the link, but this is the place I post most of the comments I make.

No offense, but I think you should reactive or re-sign up on both of those platforms and barrage them both with ammunition, whether memes or brief info posts, or what the ever. People, even on twitter and FB now, are increasingly open to understanding what is happening and why ... and the more they understand, the more it will push them to vote for President Trump in Nov.

JMHO :)

I'm on FB and twitter primarily to follow certain people. Rarely do I post anything. I still don't get how a lot of it works. FB stuff seems to “disappear”. Twitter I'm very new and can't follow the threads. Some of those other sites (like DU) I can't follow at all on who is posting to who or the time line, etc.

Free-Republic is so straight forward. Can see the time line, replies, search, spelling, etc.

Same here. Rush Limbaugh is not wrong when he says that Facebook, Twitter, et. al. are cesspools. Facebook in particular is a very dark place. Something close to 2/3 of divorce filings specifically mention Facebook.
