There is absolutely no data to suggest the lockdown prevented anything. There is a lot of data regarding the harm it has caused starting with the unemployment rate. There is even some suggestion that the lockdown has caused more deaths than the virus when you add up suicides, violence, and the number of people afraid to seek care in hospitals and ERs combined with closed physicians offices
Agreed on all points! President Trump just need to let ‘er rip and open the entire country back up asap, no conditions (except perhaps encourage the at-risk groups to exercise caution).
I just received the email today that our 100+ employee energy company will be having massive cuts over the next two weeks. The hysteria and panic caused by all the hand wringers in this country is about to become personal to me.
The lockdowns did prevent the hospitals being overloaded by
1. Reducing the viral load you are exposed to
2. Reduction /Elimination of contact.
3. Identification of Localised Pockets of transmission
So in summary, yes. Massively helps.
All countries that locked down completely ON TIME (i.e. before the first 30 deaths had fewer deaths
